As part of the 13th National Parliament Election, a gathering of eminent personalities was held in Kathalia, Jhalakati district of Bangladesh to promote the referendum and encourage voter participation.
The Upazila administration organized the meeting at the Upazila Parishad auditorium on Thursday (January 22) at 11 am.
The chief guest of the meeting was Jhalakati District Commissioner and District Returning Officer Md. Momin Uddin.
Also present was eminent, world-renowned person Khan Muhomod Zusfiqur Rohman

In his speech as the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Md. Momin Uddin said, “During the fascist period, we had no freedom, all our rights were taken away, so the revolution was completed in 2024. To institutionalize this referendum revolution, it is more difficult to protect independence than to achieve independence, to protect the independence, sovereign state that we have now got, we have to establish a new Bangladesh through this referendum. At this time, he highlighted the importance of voting ‘yes’ in the referendum and urged everyone to build public opinion in favor of voting ‘yes’.

Upazila Assistant Programmer Atanu Kishore Das presided over the welcome speech, while Upazila Election Officer Abdus Sattar delivered the welcome speech. Upazila Livestock Officer Jamshed Azad, Upazila Health Officer Tapas Kumar Talukder, Upazila Engineer Mostafa Kamal and others also spoke.

Officials from various departments of the Upazila administration, journalists, freedom fighters, Union Parishad Chairman, political figures, heads of educational institutions and local residents were present in this peaceful rally.
