TEHRAN (WSN24) – The Iranian Army has declared a new series of drone strikes targeting various locations at Ben Gurion Airport, stating that the objective of this operation is to interfere with Israeli military air operations and command systems.

The Public Relations Office of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran declared on Saturday that Iranian forces executed a significant drone strike against the positions of the Zionist regime at Ben Gurion Airport.

In a message directed to the Iranian populace, the statement indicated that, as a reaction to the ongoing utilization of the airport by the United States and the Israeli regime for operations against Iran, Iranian Army forces targeted multiple critical facilities starting early Saturday morning. These targets included the new control tower, control towers at Terminals 1 and 2, navigation systems, as well as airport antennas and radar installations.

The statement noted that the drone operation was intended to disrupt the enemy’s command, control, and coordination of military air traffic, hinder the guidance of attacking fighter jets, and interfere with aerial operations. Additionally, it sought to incapacitate reconnaissance and electronic warfare systems and diminish the enemy’s capacity to monitor airspace over the occupied territories.

Furthermore, the statement emphasized that retaliation for the blood of those martyred throughout Iran is unavoidable, cautioning that Iran’s Armed Forces will persist in delivering continuous and proportionate responses to the crimes and aggressions of its adversaries with full force.

Following the assassination of the then Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28, the US and the Israeli regime initiated a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran.

These attacks have included extensive aerial bombardments on both military and civilian sites across Iran, resulting in significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.

In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces have conducted counter-offensive operations, targeting American and Israeli positions in the occupied territories and at regional bases with waves of missiles and drones.
