TEHRAN (WSN24) – The General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has pledged to persist in its opposition to the United States and the Zionist regime until the “total defeat” of these adversaries and the fulfillment of the rights of the Iranian populace

In a statement released on Sunday to commemorate the anniversary of the return of Iranian prisoners of war following the conclusion of the war imposed in the 1980s, the General Staff paid tribute to the nation’s former POWs and extended congratulations to veterans and their families on this significant occasion.

The statement characterized the eight-year Sacred Defense as a wellspring of honor, pride, and national identity for the Iranian people, asserting that this experience has evolved into a symbol of self-reliance, the pursuit of freedom, resistance against oppression, loyalty to the Leader, and the insight of those who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

It noted that Iranian youth bravely confronted the world’s most heavily armed military, referred to as the “criminal America,” in response to the call of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and under the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Mojtaba Khamenei, emphasizing that they have forced the enemy’s leaders to capitulate.

The General Staff commended the unwavering resolve of the Iranian nation and reassured the populace that it would not waver in its pursuit of legitimate demands or those of the Leader in the face of “aggressive America.”

Furthermore, it stated that Iran’s Armed Forces would persist in their endeavors until the complete defeat of the American-Zionist adversaries in the region, the fulfillment of the rights of the Iranian people, and the capitulation of the enemy.
