TEHRAN (WSN24) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi stated that the recent violations of the ceasefire by the United States, along with their provocative actions in the Persian Gulf, have heightened doubts regarding Washington’s intentions and its commitment to diplomatic efforts
Araqchi expressed his views during a phone call with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan on Friday, where they discussed significant regional developments.
In the conversation, the Iranian foreign minister updated Fidan on the latest progress regarding Iran’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at conclusively ending the war of aggression instigated by the US and the Zionist regime.
Commenting on the recent provocative actions by the US in the Persian Gulf and the offensive and derogatory remarks made by senior American officials, Araqchi stated that the recent actions by US forces in the Persian Gulf, which have created tension and involved repeated ceasefire violations, have intensified skepticism regarding the US’s intentions and its commitment to diplomacy.
He characterized the US approach as detrimental, asserting that it undermines the diplomatic process and exacerbates the Iranian nation’s distrust of Washington’s motives.
Araqchi further emphasized that ceasing illegal acts of aggression and moving away from excessive and unreasonable tactics by the opposing side are essential for progressing the current diplomatic efforts.
In response, Fidan emphasized the importance of continuing diplomatic endeavors to bring an end to the war and reiterated Turkey’s support for the ongoing diplomatic process in this context.
