TEHRAN (WSN24) – The topic of the United States’ inability to fulfill its obligations will be discussed at an upcoming meeting between the Iranian negotiating team and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad

On Saturday morning, WSN24’s correspondent sent a report from Pakistan detailing the latest strategies of the Iranian negotiating team.

During their meeting today with Sharif, the Iranian delegation will address the matter of US violations of commitments.

Among Iran’s prerequisites for initiating negotiations with the US are the release of its frozen assets and a ceasefire in Lebanon.

The US has communicated to Pakistan, acting as the mediator, its agreement to these preconditions along with additional terms for starting negotiations. Nevertheless, several of these matters remain unresolved.

In today’s discussions, the Iranian delegation plans to evaluate the US stance and its adherence to obligations, after which a determination will be made regarding negotiations with the US.

Following the assassination of the late Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, and several military leaders on February 28, the US and Israel initiated a large-scale military offensive against Iran. In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces executed strikes on American and Israeli positions in the region and the occupied territories, demonstrating their ability to respond effectively. Contrary to the aggressors’ anticipation of a swift victory, Iran’s formidable counterattacks over 40 days caused substantial damage to US and Israeli military resources.

To mitigate the situation, Pakistani mediation resulted in a two-week ceasefire agreement on April 8, facilitating negotiations in Islamabad. Iran has presented a ten-point agenda for the discussions, which includes demands for the withdrawal of US troops, the removal of sanctions, and control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz. The Iranian government continues to express skepticism towards the US, claiming that the negotiations are not intended to resolve the conflict but to transition the battleground into the diplomatic sphere.
